Janay Carpenter is a young woman on fire for Jesus Christ. Quickly recognized by her vibrant smile and joyful demeanor, it is her desire to see people set free and empowered to stand and fight the good fight of faith. Her mission is to help people to walk into their gifts and callings and to bring the world to Christ.
Janay is a motivational speaker, mentor, life coach, and author who inspires, encourages and leads people to live victorious lives. It is the energy, practical advice, passion and Christian education that bring her before many. Young women are drawn to her positive and uplifting spirit.
In March 2008, Janay saw that there was need to empower young women to become assets to society, so the organization, Expect Victory: Young Women’s Empowerment was born. The vision of Expect Victory is to inspire, educate, motivate and develop young women to live holistically. The areas of focus are spirituality, education, self-image, money mastery, entrepreneurship and health and fitness.
A 2005 graduate of Crossland High School, Janay was a member of the W.E.B Dubois and National Honor Societies, the Varsity Cheerleading squad, and the Student Government Association.
Beyond the classroom, Janay has taken courses at Evangel Cathedral, Reid Temple and was a member of Injoy, a personal coaching program by world renowned Speaker and Life Coach, Valerie Burton to enhance and increase her personal development. Janay is also a member of The Morgan Lewis Toastmasters International Club. During her first year as a member, she competed at the firm level in an Evaluation Competition and won, later advancing to the District level and regionals.
Currently she is a member of Spiritual Physique by Khama Anku, a life-coaching program that is specifically tailored for hard-working, optimistic trailblazers. She understands that we perish for the lack of knowledge and values the sacrifices made by our ancestors for our freedom to obtain knowledge.
In May 2008, Janay competed for the title of Miss DC International among the nation’s most elite young women at George Washington University. She ran successfully, earning The Miss 2008 Congeniality Award.
It is through the strength of being raised by a single parent, pain and hurt from relationships, the protection of God’s hand, that she is beginning to walk into her destiny. Janay is a faithful member of the Temple of Praise in Washington, DC serving under the leadership of Bishop Glen Staples.
